Mitsubishi Owners Day Raises Money for Good Causes

Mitsubishi Owners Day Raises Money for Good Causes | Heritage Mitsubishi | Morrow, GAEvery year, Mitsubishi hosts appreciation events for Mitsubishi drivers who want to come out, celebrate the brand, and show off their Mitsubishis. The day—or days, rather—are called Mitsubishi Owners Day. This summer, there was an Owners Day for west coast drivers and an Owners Day for east coast drivers.

All proceeds raised at the events directly benefited two charities. This year, more than 5,000 people turned out for the two events. This year also marks the 100 year anniversary for Mitsubishi, which made the celebrations even more special.

West coast Mitsubishi owners celebrated their Mitsubishi Owners Day on July 8th at the North American headquarters for Mitsubishi in Cypress, California. Money raised that day was donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, which feeds 250,000 underprivileged people in the Orange County area.

Meanwhile, east coast Mitsubishi drivers had their Owners Day more recently, on August 19th, at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The chosen charity for that event was the Wounded Warriors Project, which provides services to wounded veterans, as well as their families.

“Both of these influential organizations work to improve the well-being of their respective communities,” stated Don Swearingen, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Mitsubishi Motors North America. “Mitsubishi Motors is committed to giving back and we trust that the donations made will help further their efforts.”

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution: A Look Back

It was a sad day when Mitsubishi announced it would be discontinuing the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, but all good things must come to an end, or so they say. To pay it the homage it most certainly deserves, we at Heritage Mitsubishi want to offer a brief look back.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution | Heritage Mitsubishi | Morrow, GAThe Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, or EVO, got its start in 1992, when Mitsubishi developed the car to compete in the World Rally Championship. Lucky for driving enthusiasts, Mitsubishi also released a stripped down, street-legal version. A year later came the EVO II and then the EVO III in 1995; each iteration brought forth even more compelling performance feats, such as the revised turbocharger for the EVO III.

According to The News Wheel, it was the EVO IV that truly left its mark when it debuted with a twin-turbocharger, Active Yaw Control, the famed fog lights, and a limited-slip front differential. The EVO V came in 1998, offering a more aggressive stance and the torque to back it up. A few years later marked the arrival of the EVO VII and then, in 2003, the EVO VIII. It was the EVO IX in 2006 that many fell in love with, however, as it offered several driving modes, an updated transmission, and variable valve lifting. The EVO X was the final version, appearing in 2008 here in the States.

Thanks for the ride, Lancer EVO. You were a true thing of beauty. We still have Lancers in stock at Heritage Mitsubishi – come take one for a test drive!

Mitsubishi Mirage Gets Model Loyalty Award

Mitsubishi Mirage gets Model Loyalty Award

IHS Automotive rewards car brands and models in many categories: safety, performance and loyalty. And this year, the Mitsubishi Mirage got the Model Loyalty Award.

This is second year in a row that the Mitsubishi Mirage has been recognized by IHS Automotive for having the highest loyalty in the Non-Luxury Traditional Sub-Compact category.

To determine owner loyalty, IHS analyzes the percentage of households that choose the same make/model when they purchase or lease a new car. The higher the percentage of households that return to previous models, the higher that model’s ranking.

And the Mitsubishi Mirage? It had a record-breaking year and exceptionally high loyalty. The Mirage is a top sub-compact car, offering an unmatched package of class-leading fuel economy and reasonable pricing.

“The Mitsubishi Mirage is one of the true hidden gems in the automotive industry and this IHS award validates that claim,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president of Mitsubishi Motors North America. That, and its innovative styling and tech aspects explain why consumers keep coming back for the Mirage.

If your significant other loves racing and fast cars, splurge a little to send them to racing school to get some hands on experience in a real racecar, or just get tickets to a race. No matter what you get, they’re sure to love it!

Mitsubishi Mirage Wins In The IIHS 2015 Loyalty Awards

2015 loyalty awards

The Mitsubishi Mirage is small but mighty. One of its extraordinary abilities is to charm its owners to the point where they simply cannot buy another kind of vehicle.

Every year, IHS releases the winners of their Automotive Loyalty Award. As defined in a press release from IIHS, what they mean by loyalty is very specific. “Loyalty is determined when a household that owns a new vehicle returns to market and purchases or leases another new vehicle of the same make, model or manufacturer.”

The Mitsubishi Mirage took the cake in the Non-Luxury Traditional Sub-Compact Car category for the IHS 2015 Loyalty Awards.

Another one of the Mirage’s extraordinary abilities falls in the area of fuel economy, and probably has a lot to do with its tendency to induce loyalty. As a press release from Mitsubishi states, the Mirage is “the most fuel efficient gas-powered non-hybrid in America.” This is where its sub-compact size makes a world of difference.

New Look and Quality Materials Define The 2016 Outlander Revamp

It’s been an exciting week at the 2015 New York Auto Show with Mitsubishi finally dropping the curtain on the new 2016 Outlander. The fresh design language incorporated from the Outlander PHEV Concept-S seems geared towards U.S. resurgence and the improved quality of the fresh Outlander makes it a compelling crossover.

In all, Mitsubishi employed 100 design changes compared to last year’s model. An angular, muscular chrome grill dominates the front end accentuating its aggressive lines. The doorsills now sport silver cladding and the hatchback has a noticeable skid-plate for a more rugged effect.

The interior receives many new changes, from premium soft-touch materials to additional padding on the steering wheel – but the biggest improvement is what you can’t see. The new Outlander will be markedly quieter by way of acoustic windshield glass and sound deadening material located in wheel wells, side mirrors, and throughout its structure. Certainly the 2016 Outlander revamp will demand a test drive if you’re in the  crossover market.

Mitsubishi has a runaway success on their hands, so come see the entire lineup of cars and SUVs at Heritage Mitsubishi.
