Preview of the Paris Auto Show
The Paris Auto Show is approaching fast and Mitsubishi is one of the first attendees to unveil its plans. The Japanese automaker decided to tease fans with a silhouette image of what looks like an SUV, something the Mitsubishi lineup is lacking. While sales are increasing in the crossover and SUV markets, the time is ripe for Mitsubishi to blow the automotive market away.
The teaser image features a futuristic-looking concept powered by a hybrid drive train. Currently going by the name Grand Tourer, Mitsubishi is billing the concept vehicle as an upscale SUV. While the image doesn’t show much in terms of design, Mitsubishi was a little more forthcoming with the details.
The concept SUV will boast the Dynamic Shield design language, namely a thin, high-mounted grille and slim, long headlights. Mitsubishi claims that the design is made up of four important elements: Japanese craftsmanship, solid thrust, augmented possibilities, and functional beauty.
Other than that, Mitsubishi is keeping the intricate details to themselves until the Paris Auto Show officially kicks off. The Grand Tourer concept will feature four-wheel drive and will have the capability to drive on electricity for short treks.
While it’s possible the Grand Tourer could share parts with the Outlander plug-in hybrid, Mitsubishi isn’t saying anything just yet.
Here at Heritage Mitsubishi, we can’t wait for the Paris Auto Show to finally begin!
