Annual Mitsubishi sales were up 22.8% over last year after a strong December performance. The automaker sold 7,887 in the last month of the year and a total of 95,342 vehicles over the course of 2015, marking the 22nd consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases—a streak that promises to go on in light of the continued success of Mitsubishi’s CUV lineup.
As always, the Outlander and Outlander Sport led the charge for Mitsubishi both at Heritage Mitsubishi and across the nation. The Outlander was up 76.6% over December 2014 and 45.8% over the year 2014, while the Outlander was up 21.8% and 19%, respectively, with annual sales nearly reaching a whopping 37,000 units.
That’s not to say the automaker’s other vehicles didn’t do well: the Lancer was up 7.3% for the year and the Mirage up 28.8% on sales of 21,515 units, making it the most successful model in the lineup after the Outlander Sport—a true testament to its exceptional value.
“2015 was a monumental year for Mitsubishi Motors in many ways: we reported sales increases every month over the prior year, our dealer network has strengthened and we successfully launched the new 2016 Outlander. Most importantly, we’re poised to repeat our success in 2016,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president, MMNA.
